Apollo

I led the UX/UI design for Apollo, an innovative online pharmacy delivery platform built to serve a diverse user base in the UAE. Collaborating closely with product managers and navigating complex healthcare regulations, I focused on crafting a seamless, compliant, and accessible experience over a six-month design process.

User research & discovery

Throughout the research process, I employed various qualitative data collection methods, including interviews and focus groups. Stakeholder interviews were particularly crucial for gaining insights into regulatory challenges and understanding customer touchpoints at physical pharmacy stores. Additionally, we conducted focus groups with users to leverage group interactions, followed by semi-structured one-on-one interviews to delve deeper into individual perspectives.

Wireframing & prototyping

Building on the insights from stakeholder interviews and user focus groups, I translated key user needs and regulatory considerations into early wireframes and I conducted three formative usability tests with it. I moderated these tests to understand user interactions. Since not all screens were necessary for testing, I focused on major screens like product details, product listings, and prescription integration.

UI design & branding

After usability testing, I designed the core UI screens for essential user flows such as browsing products, uploading prescriptions, and completing orders. The interface was crafted to be clean, accessible, and trustworthy reflecting the needs of a diverse healthcare audience. In parallel, I developed the visual identity for Apollo, including the color palette, typography, iconography, and overall look and feel. The branding was designed to evoke calm and clarity, reinforcing a sense of trust in a tightly regulated space.

Design systems & handoff

Building on the established UI patterns, I structured the interface using Atomic Design principles to ensure consistency and scalability:
Quarks: Design tokens like colors, spacing, and typography
Atoms: Core UI elements such as buttons, inputs, and icons
Molecules: Functional combinations like product cards and search bars.
The system was documented in Figma to support clear communication and a seamless developer handoff.
